With more than a passing nod to Halloween, our Sugar Skull costume for young ladies comprises of a long sleeved black mini-dress which features a high neckline and which is printed on the front with a large pink sugar skull, the traditional decoration for the Mexican Day of the Dead, or more correctly, Dia de los Muertos celebration. The sugar skull decoration incorporates ornate roses and swirling flower designs in and around the eyes. Across the top of the chest there are more ornate pastel coloured swirls. The sleeves are decorated with skeleton bones with the lower arm having these outlined in red. Around the hemline there is a ruffled pink lace which gives the impression of a petticoat and the front of the skirt is decorated with two turquoise coloured roses which pick up on the colouring of the roses in the skull.
