NHS Rainbow Pride

Pride and NHS workers costumes, accessories and party goods available here at Karnival Costumes online party shopLGBT Rainbow Pride Month / NHS Rainbow
The month of June was chosen as being LGBT Pride Month as a way of commemorating the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognise the impact LGBT people have and are having in the wider world. Bisexual activist Brenda Howard is known as the "Mother of Pride", for her work in coordinating the first LGBT Pride march, and she also originated the idea for a week-long series of events around Pride Day which became the genesis of the annual LGBT Pride celebrations that are now held around the world every June.

Here at Karnival Costumes we celebrate the differences in society that make the whole stronger and we stock a great selection of Pride costumes and accessories so that you can join in the party too!  The rainbow has also become the national symbol of hope and amid the terrors of 2020 and it was widely adopted as representing all that is magnificent about our NHS; nurses, doctors, carers and all of the front line workers who have helped us and are still helping us get through these terrors. If we could, we'd give each and everyone of you your own personal rainbow complete with pot of gold.
