Boy's Viking Fancy Dress Costume
Contents: Top, Trousers and Helmet with Attached Beard
From our Horrible Histories costume collection, this is a great dress up idea for any historical re-enactment of the Viking Invasion with it's bloody battles. Creators of the Long Boat they became one of the first peoples to launch invasions by sea as this gave them both a tactical advantage and then allowed for the development of more peaceful trade routes to be established but even then, they still liked a fight! A super costume idea in support of KS2 costumed role play activities allowing the development of storylines covering aspects of the National Curriculum and therefore allowing children to gain an insight into peoples lives in different periods of time. Our Viking warrior costume comprises of a long sleeved tunic top in green with the sleeves being both green at the top and then blue towards the wrist creating the appearance of a battle tunic. This is augmented by the stitching on the green fabric which gives it a padded look. The neckline is open with brown tabs and a simple crossed laced fastening (not really visible in the photos). The tunic also has an attached brown belt with silver buckle. Included with the outfit is a pair of beige coloured trousers which have an elasticated waistband for a comfortable fit and which have attached brown crossed boot ties at the front below the knee. The best part of this Viking costume for boys is the silver helmet with nose and eye guards and which has an attached magnificent 'blonde' beard in soft felt.
