Beer or Ale has always been important to us British that we even gave it a mention in the Magna Carta – one of the most revolutionary documents in History!

For many many years, beer has been the national drink on our shores and this is reflected today with Britain being one of the top brewing nations in the world and to boot, us Brits can even proudly claim inventing numerous different types of beer… We’ll leave it to you to try and name them all – answers on a postcard!

In modern times, we can celebrate the noble art of brewing in the Good Ol’ British public house or pub.  It’s an institution and what can be more British than a pub? It’s due to this enviable heritage, that we Brits deserve a day to ‘celebrate’ something that brings so much pleasure to the nation and for this we have National Beer Day. Even the date chosen for this celebration is of historical relevance – June 15th which was in fact the date that the Magna Carta was sealed back in 1215!

2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, and due to the link with Beer and Great Britain, what better day to have National Beer Day?
