WWII Wartime Evacuee Costume - Boys Fancy Dress

To ensure the safety of a whole generation nearly a million schoolchildren were evacuated from the major cities in the UK to the relative safety of the countryside. Viewed with a mixture of fear and adventure, this mass exodus was a triumph of organisation and we think that this costume is sure to bring back both happy and sad memories to some. From a huge collection of childrens fancy dress and WWII costumes, our boys wartime evacuee costume comprises of a long sleeved dark green jacket which is designed to look like a school blazer and this is complete with a turnover collar line and lapels. The front of the jacket has a button fastening and two side pockets with detail stitching. The most evocative aspect of the costume if the buff coloured label attached to the right hand lapel. This wonderful costume comes with a matching pair of long shorts which have an elasticated waistband for a comfortable fit. This children's WWII costume themed to wartime evacuation is completed with a school cap with a small peak at the front and an iconic gas mask bag which should be worn across the shoulders at all times and was something that everyone had with them wherever they went. This is a stylised costume and is ideal for school productions and book weeks.
